If you (or your child) are feeling what could be the beginnings of an injury, it is HIGHLY recommended that action is taken to hopefully prevent a more significant injury (that could take weeks to mend) from occurring. Here are the initial steps to follow:
1) Ice / Rest
2) Let Coach Joy know about the injury and see if she (or Coach Matt) has suggestions. Coach John or Coach Jay, may possibly be able to help, but generally, they are not quite as good in this area.
3) If improvement is not very quickly seen, then we highly recommend you see Dr. Wagenblast (or possibly one of his associates) with Active Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation in downtown Round Rock.
We've known Dr. Wagenblast (Seth) for over 15 years, and he has helped us (and many Champions) out many times. He has extensive experience treating running and other sporting injuries, and he will be able to guide you on what next steps to take to get back to running ASAP. When meeting with Dr. Wag, let him know that you are a Champion, and for fun, you can ask him what's behind Coach Jay's "Buttons" nickname (lol)!
Also, a Champions alumni, Caroline Burslem, happens to work on their team! So, she would be an excellent choice for someone to see as well!
